Literacy night is a family event for students to show their reading and writing skills to parents ad teachers.  If You Give a Kid a Book This theme is based on the iconic book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie; Every child I know has read this book and loved it. When thinking of how we would incorporate this, we decided stations with STEM involved too so it did not have to be just reading. That is why we involved the spilled milk station and mouse house building. 

In the Spilled Milk station the students would have a list of words, and a pile of shaving cream in front of them. The students would then race to see who could correctly spell and read the word first.

In the Mouse House station, students would have popsicle sticks, and marshmallows to build a creative house for the mouse in the book.
